ELEM_OUT#
- ELEM_OUT(10.2)#
Text-format section
[row, col] = [1, 2]
Number |
Description |
|---|---|
0 Default |
Does not output. |
1 |
Outputs element quantities. |
Important
To output distribution quantities, set either or both ELEM_OUT and NODE_OUT to 1.
Tip
Element quantities are more accurate than nodal quantities. However, FORCE_NODAL(10.3) is a nodal force, so nodal quantities are more accurate.

1 |
Outputs nodal quantities. |
Important
To output distribution quantities, set either or both ELEM_OUT and NODE_OUT to 1.
Tip
disp displacement is a nodal quantity, but is output when ELEM_OUT = 1 even if NODE_OUT = 0.

ATLAS node coordinate output has 12 significant digits |
ATLAS node coordinate output has 12 significant digits |
Important
For input meshes other than ATLAS, the ATLAS intermediate file has 12 significant digits regardless of this setting.
Input meshes in formats other than ATLAS are first converted to an ATLAS intermediate file. The ATLAS format is fixed-width; through r11.0.1, node and element IDs exceeding eight digits could not be handled and might lose precision. From r11.1.1, WIDE = 2 enables up to 12 digits. From r11.2.3, ATLAS intermediate files are written with 12 digits regardless of the WIDE setting.
Note
Revision history
Support for 6- and 9-digit output precision in output files
Added WIDE = 2
ATLAS intermediate files use 12 digits regardless of this setting
