The combination of STATIC = 2 (static electric-field analysis) or = 3 (steady-current-field analysis) and AC = 1 (frequency-domain analysis) runs frequency-domain quasi-electrostatic analysis. Quasi-electrostatic analysis uses permittivity and conductivity.
Caution
Full-wave frequency-domain analysis is incomplete and is implemented only for comparison with the Darwin model.
The Darwin model is a beta feature. Contact us if you would like to use it.
Note
Revision history:
Added complex permeability settings (AC = 2 mode).
Added Darwin model settings (AC = 3, 5).
Extended quasi-electrostatic analysis settings.
For quasi-electrostatic analysis, all modes use the ordinary relative permittivity EPS and conductivity SIGMA in 16.1 3D Element Properties. These differ from EPS_COMPLEX, which is used for the Darwin approximation.
For quasi-electrostatic analysis with STATIC = 2 + AC = 1, complex relative permittivity is defined as follows.
For quasi-electrostatic analysis with STATIC = 3 + AC = 1, complex conductivity is defined as follows.

Caution
STATIC, AC, TRANSIENT, and STEADY_CURRENT select the analysis mode. As a rule, select only one mode: set one of them to >= 1 and set the others to 0. For frequency-domain quasi-electrostatic analysis, however, combine STATIC = 2 or 3 with AC = 1. Set all unused functions to 0.
