Detailed description#
SUFCUR defines a current-inlet face on the end face of a conductor region, allowing both externally supplied current and eddy current to be considered in eddy-current analysis.
Hint
In two-dimensional analysis, using SUFCUR is equivalent to assigning current to a conductor that includes eddy current.
In three-dimensional analysis, the current distribution is the superposition of conduction current following the conductor geometry and eddy current caused by effects such as the skin effect.
Use SUFCUR2 when current is assigned to multiple conductor regions. For example, it can be used to connect a motor coil consisting of multiple conductors to a power source and calculate the linked flux.

Example definition of SUFCUR#
SUFCUR2#
- SUFCUR2(17.6.2)#
Text-format section
[row, col] = [1, 1]
- Type:
String (S)
- Description:
Specifies the multi-conductor surface-inlet current source
SUFCUR2.
The setup procedure is almost the same as for PHICOIL(17.4).
During calculation, it is treated as SUFCUR. When the linked flux of conductor regions is calculated during post-processing for an electrical-circuit connection, the normalized DC current distribution calculated as PHICOIL(17.4) is used. Therefore, it is equivalent to a field source based on PHICOIL(17.4) that considers eddy currents.
Hint
Use SUFCUR2 when current is assigned to multiple conductor regions. For example, it can be used to connect a motor coil consisting of multiple conductors to a power source and calculate the linked flux.
Like SUFCUR, SUFCUR2 defines a current-inlet face on the end face of a conductor region and allows both externally supplied current and eddy current to be considered in eddy-current analysis.
