VI Output Files#

This chapter describes output files produced by EMSolution.

Output file names are fixed.

Post-processing mesh files and post-processing data files can be written in the following formats selected by POST_DATA_FILE(10.2).

=1:

I-DEAS Universal format

=2:

ATLAS format

=3:

Nastran BDF format (for QVOL)

=4:

KSWAD format

=5:

FEMAP neutral format; changed from format 451 to format 1051

=6:

CADAS format: post.cad

=8:

HyperView ASCII format: post.hwascii

Output in =7: Abaqus format is not supported. However, for =8: HyperView ASCII format, the separately written post_geom mesh file is written in Nastran mesh format.

Mesh Files#

VI-1. Output Mesh Files

Written in the format specified by POST_DATA_FILE(10.2).

post_geom:

Mesh data file for post-processing

boundary_surface:

File for checking boundary conditions

t_r_interface:

File for checking potential boundary surfaces

Distribution Data Files#

VI-2. Post Files

Distribution data files write element quantities when ELEM_OUT(10.2) =1 and nodal quantities when NODE_OUT(10.2) =1. When both are 1, both types of data are written. However, displacement disp is written only as a nodal quantity, even when ELEM_OUT(10.2) =1 and NODE_OUT(10.2) =0.

Written in the format specified by POST_DATA_FILE(10.2).

magnetic:

Magnetic flux density distribution data file

current:

Current density distribution data file

surface_current:

Current density distribution data file for surface-impedance surfaces

force:

Electromagnetic force distribution data file calculated by the nodal-force method

surface_force:

Nodal electromagnetic force distribution data file calculated by the nodal-force method for surface elements of FORCE_NODAL(10.3)

force_J_B:

Electromagnetic force distribution data file calculated by volume integration of the Lorentz force

heat:

Heat-generation density and heat-generation distribution data file

surface_heat:

Heat-generation density and heat-generation distribution data file for surface-impedance surfaces

disp:

Displacement data file

magnetization:

Magnetization distribution data file

electric:

Electric potential and electric flux density, or electric field strength and current density, distribution data file

iron_loss:

Iron-loss distribution data file

COIL_force:

Electromagnetic force distribution data file calculated by volume integration of the Lorentz force for MESHED_COIL ( MESH(17.1.7) )

COIL_current:

Data file for checking coil current in MESHED_COIL ( MESH(17.1.7) )

Fixed-Format Files#

VI-3. Fixed Format Files

The following files are also described. They are always written in a fixed format, regardless of the format specified by POST_DATA_FILE(10.2).

elem:

Element data file

motion:

File that writes time, position (rotational position), velocity (angular velocity), and electromagnetic force (torque) as table data when MOTION(17.1.6) is specified.

flux:

File that writes the normal component of magnetic flux density for surface elements when linked-flux calculation FLUX(17.1.5) =2 is specified with a surface-element material-property ID.

initial_magnetization.dat:

File that writes magnetization and magnetization ratio when MAGNETIZATION(10.3) =4.

output, output.json#

VI-4. output and output.json

The output and output.json files are written as analysis-result summaries. The output file writes the summary in text format. The output.json file writes the summary in JSON format.
